Plunge Pool FAQs

Straightforward answers to common questions about choosing, installing and caring for a Plungie precast concrete pool.

Why choose a precast plunge pool?

A Plungie pool is manufactured off site and craned into position. This reduces the formwork, steel fixing and concrete construction needed in your backyard. Site preparation, approvals, equipment connections, fencing and the surrounding finishes still need to be planned for your property.

Which Plungie model suits my backyard?

The Quad suits compact courtyards, the Studio suits narrow spaces, the Arena offers a round design, the Original is a balanced family option and the Max provides the most swimming space in the range. The best choice depends on your available space, intended use, access and site assessment.

What is included in an installed plunge pool quote?

A package may include the pool shell, excavation, foundations, crane placement, filtration, plumbing and coordination of approvals. Your written quote should confirm the exact inclusions. Decking, paving, fencing, heating, jets, difficult ground, additional engineering and complex crane requirements may need separate allowances.

How long does plunge pool installation take?

For a prepared, straightforward site, the main excavation and pool placement can often be completed over two days. The full project also includes planning, approvals, manufacturing availability, equipment connections, fencing and surrounding finishes. We confirm the programme after assessing your site.

Why can the same pool finish look different in photos?

Water colour changes with sunlight, shade, water depth, the pool finish and surrounding materials. Compare completed projects in different lighting conditions when choosing your finish. A photograph is a guide rather than a guarantee of the colour on your site.

Can I use a mineral or low-salt system?

Suitable mineral and low-salt systems can be planned with your pool. The pump, filter and sanitising equipment need to suit the pool volume and system requirements, with accessible space for maintenance. We can discuss equipment options during quoting.

What maintenance does a plunge pool need?

Regular care includes testing and balancing the water, removing debris, cleaning baskets and filters, checking the sanitising system and maintaining the water level. Frequency depends on use, weather and the selected equipment. Follow the equipment instructions and your handover guidance.

Can I add heating to extend the swimming season?

Yes. Heating should be planned around pool volume, your target water temperature, available power and equipment location. A suitable cover can help reduce heat loss. Discuss heating early so the equipment and connections can be included in the design and quote.

Do you help coordinate approvals and engineering?

We can help coordinate the approval and engineering process with the relevant consultants. Requirements depend on your property, including setbacks, easements, overlays, ground conditions and nearby structures. These matters need to be checked before installation begins.
